This is one of my favorite places on Buford Hwy for many reasons. Not only is the food to melt for and ready within minutes, but the staff is as friendly as they get.
We can come here at least once a month and are always greeted like family.
If you are hungry and want to try some Taiwanese food- stop by! -

This is buffet that not normally seen in Chinese Cuisine buffet. It is not typical Chinese dish item on display. It is Taiwanese food with a twist. The time we visited, we were able to be seated. I read some other reviews that it is hard to get seat during lunch time at weekends. We were lucky to have seat at weekend.
I love their fried small fish. That fish can be eat as whole including the bone because it was crisp fried to soft. The thick glass noodle is normally seen. It was great addition. The shrimp is good to me because I have two big one. I like wrap sticky rice with sweet interior filling.
They did not let the food get to bottom. Constantly refill is a plus when we are there. Most customers are going for the the buffet. If you didn't try their sweet red tea at the counter is a miss out. It is so good. The are soup item for the salty and sweet to choose from. -

Such a gem! My first experience with this place was pretty good. It's in the very back of the sweethut plaza so it's not the prettiest sight outside, but inside is lovely. It's a very updated and modern Chinese restaurant.
My boyfriend and I shared the Three Cups Chicken and wontons. The Three Cups Chicken can definitely be split between two people assuming you don't have a huge appetite. The chicken was so juicy and delicious. It comes in a hot dish so some of the pieces get further caramelized on the outside and it is amazing. It comes with rice and they'll refill it for you if needed.
The wontons were alright. It came with 8 pieces so it's about $1 per wonton. It was my boyfriend's first time having Sichuan peppercorns so he was a bit turned off by the slight floral taste. The wontons have a kind of chive filling, so it was not the kind of pork wonton that I was accustomed to. The sauce had a decent numbing effect though, just enough to feel it on the sides of your tongue.
Overall I am definitely coming back for the three cups chicken and to try a few other dishes! -

Pork. Leeks. Paradise.
La Mei Zi is the epitome of Buford highway culture. A deviation from the Atlanta and flavors that most Atlantans know and for a good reason. Unlike a city like NYC, experiencing such flavors is impossible in central Atlanta. Located in another bland strip mall, that has fewer signs in English than other languages. In other words, it's the real deal.
The semi-sour pickles served as a starter are delicious and really raise the appetite for what's about to come. The pork belly leeks dish is phenomenal. A little sour, tender, a hint of sweetness, heat...the whole profile. Three cups in chicken is spectacular also. A beautiful dish, that actually makes chicken exciting.
La Mei Zi is an institution in Atlanta, that relatively few people from the city center actually know. Sure, it's a bit disconnected from the central areas of the city, but it is certainly a must to experience for a visitor or a local. -

Holy moly!
This place is awesome!
Great traditional Chinese food offered at the resturant (Taiwanese & Sichuan fusion)!
Highly recommending their braised minced pork over rice, made with traditional Taiwanese style and the sizing is prefect.
Their braised beef & scallion with hosing sauce in roll is spot on as well.
They also have American dishes served and they do it great as well.
The service very friendly and attentive and it's great for small groups as well.
The only down side is that the interior is a lil too old school and it might not be very suitable for big occasions (family friendly dinning place)
Solid 4.5 stars!
